BUILD INSTRUCTIONS

THE BOAT’S CONSTRUCTION IS FAST, INEXPENSIVE, AND THEN READY TO BE USED AND ENJOYED.

The Kano-Yak is designed to be built in 20 to 25 hours.

To save on the cost of shipping, all the materials needed can be purchased at your local lumber store for less than $200.

Building the Kano-Yak will encourage camaraderie and confidence in a team of builders. They develop pride in a project they start together, finish together, and use together in a short period of time.

For less than $350.00 they have built something to be proud of and have many years of enjoyment.

There are two Frame Kits to choose from, the One Person boat which is 12ft long and weighs about 38 pounds, and the Two Person boat which is 15ft long and weighs about 48 pounds. Both are light enough to strap to the top of your vehicle to take to your favorite lake or stream for exercise, fishing, and fun.

What People Are Saying

“I want to thank you for the experience you afforded me in building my Kano-Yak. It was certainly an experience of a lifetime. It would be hard to express how much fun I had building it. I was able to get all of the required material for less than $175. Having all of the required tools and a familiarity with wood construction helped me choose the best material at a reasonable cost. I will be putting it in the lake near Branson Landing next week. I have included a few photos but will send more after my first float. Again, thanks for the experience.”

“Hi Jim, it was nice to meet you, and I liked the boat, especially crafting one by hand. I will give out the website to all the folks our Roundtable event! We took lots of pictures as well, can't wait to show them off!”

— Amy McNeil Denver Area Council, BSA

“Hi Jim, just wanted to say thank you again for giving me this opportunity. I went out today with some friends for my first test. Passed every aspect with flying colors. My KANO-YAK handled very well with both one and two adults. I have taken some photos and a short video clip. Again, thanks. Talk to you soon.”
